CONCLUSION 。。。。


As conclude in all the topics that I had leant along the semester (four months), I realized that the use of technological information system is important which most of the human resource system were functioned with the internet. With the changing world and constant new technology; due to follow the trends of others, most of the human resource systems had been changing from the traditional way to computerization method. Besides that, the intervention of HRIS software is important in storing, manipulating, analyzing, retrieving and distribution human resource information in a timely and efficient manner where this software is important in web-based ELD that developed in company. By using web-based ELD, all the information regarding to details of employees and the result of training program or others employee’s performance achievement can be recorded effectively.

            In the field of human resource, dealing with employees cannot be less of. Employees are the main source in all the companies and organizations where their contribution with the developed web-based system by companies can be increased productivity and effectiveness of an organization. Therefore, benefits and services packages that offered by companies is playing another vital roles in the effectiveness of companies. Welfare of employees will be balanced with the contribution they attributed once companies offered various types of benefits and services. General speaking, most of the topics that I learnt have closely link with each other. For example, performance of the employees is highly emphasized by most of the companies. Therefore, ELD that developed by companies can help them increase their performance, knowledge, skills and ability through the organized training programs or modules. Additionally, most of the companies will be provided benefits, such as bonuses, vacation and so forth for the employees who achieved the best performances.

Time has passes so fast and now almost the end of the final semester I learning this new field of human resource information system (HRIS). Throughout these four months, I had studied various types of web-based systems, HRIS models, process, benefits and compensation, and so on. Additionally, without HRIS or internet, many systems cannot be functions well and achieve the goals of companies. Besides, those developed web-based system should be well-designed and well-implemented so that these system can brings beneficial for companies other than losing profits and take costs to fix it. 

Before i end it,  I want to express my thankfulness to Dr. Nur Naha and Mr. Ibrahim (PHD tutor) along the teaching session with me and my course-mates as well. Sincerely appreciated.


Online Induction System。。。。



 From my point of view, online induction system is one of the effective web-based technology tools which all companies or organizations can actual practice to welcome new employees to join with them. Besides, this is a system which is easily to manage and reporting process of induction to new employees where this can beneficial for them to explore into new environment of organization which employees can first learning companies’ background, mission, vision, and their whole functions system through E-induction. It cannot deny that bringing new and qualified employees into a firm is stressful and uncertain process. However, most of the company are changing from conducting induction program in manually to the most effective and save time way by establish this web-based system. This is not only beneficial on company where can save time to organize orientation training by the use of process of online-induction program rather than using manual way which may take a week time. For employees, they can self-independent and always pay conscious with updating information.

      
      Furthermore, management of company need to always updating new information and provide basic information on what is the system, such as introduction to E-induction and give the guidelines on how to participate in E-induction and the welcoming from CEOs that expressing the hope and expectations towards the new employees. Besides, if any employees facing questions or confusing, they can easily get the number in component “CONTACT US” or ‘FAQ” to get help from there. Other than that, this system will provide variety of modules or courses on web which employees can self-learn and compulsory for them to sit in and learn it. However, there are certain modules or courses still need a traditional approach or face-to face induction, this can include practice module of safety on fire where technology is difficult to demo in actual situation. This is one of the weaknesses for the use of E-induction system.

       This system really has more advantages of using rather than disadvantages. Therefore, developing the knowledge on this online-induction system is important which in the future can apply it once joining a company or organization. It really worthy to have this kind of knowledge.

Benefits and Services 。。。。






Nowadays, benefits and services that provided by companies or organizations considered as an attractable and noticeable issue. This is because around the competitive organizations, whether they are big or small, international or local companies, with benefits and services packages will be able to attract large pool of employees to join, particularly in provided benefits on health care, disability insurance and so on. General speaking, benefits and services packages are differing among companies according to culture, law, either private or government-based companies. Besides, benefits and services that provide may vary also depend on the employee’s position. The employees’ benefits that provided are mostly in type of insurance which consist of vacation, medical, bonuses, dental, maternity leave especially for pregnancy employees and so on.

            There are several types of common benefits we can identify which consist of pay for time not worked benefits, insurance benefits, retirement services, employees’ services benefits, flexible benefits program and so on. Other than benefits that required under law, flexible benefits also provided by some of the companies for younger employees, for example cafeterias plans. Moreover, both unemployment compensation and worker compensation are government-mandated based (types of employee benefits with law) where paid to employees with different purposes. Besides, group life insurance is also common or widely insurance that provide by most of firms, such as medical and disability insurance. Another wide known benefit is Pension-like retirement benefit which provides employees with an income after they retired. However, not all the companies are offered this type of pension for those who retired. In addition, pregnancy is the most common reason for seeking the pregnancy leave. For some of the companies, they will offer 60 days, 3 months or more than that for those who leave for pregnancy. For some of the companies, on leave pregnancy women can come for meeting anytime if they want to (updating latest version of information regarding their company).

       
          For my opinion, parental leave is one of the services that beneficial for employees where company will provide either unpaid or paid leave for those who must take time off for parental matters, such as newborn child or elder care programs which prevalence in U.S. It is important to establish culture of balancing work and family life in company which employees might be given fully commitment towards company achieve the high setting goals. This can lead to high rate of retention. In addition, other than wages and salaries, benefits and services that provided by companies can attract employees and stay without increase salaries.

Web-based Technology & Employee Learning and Development (ELD) 。。。。


This topic is an interesting topic which I thought that ELD is important towards creating an effectiveness and efficient of company as well as welfare lifelong learning opportunity

for employees. Nowadays, this web-based technology had given an opportunity for organizations to create powerful training experiences and build a learning culture among employees which those employees can accomplish setting goal of company or developed their future career. In addition, there is always in competitive stage where learning opportunity can aid employees become more competent in workforce and developed for future career. Along with the rapid growth of technology, company can practice technology-mediated learning applications that is training and performance support via the web. As for me, ELD system is an investment for organizations although it costly however can make employees felt like being value.

The application of ELD system is important in providing any training and development programs for those who having good performance. This had been given opportunities for them to develop own career and fulfill new position. It also can be said like giving right training and learning opportunities based on employee’s performance or those needs for improvement purpose. Besides, there are five components in ELD system - employee personal information, performance before training, training course, transfer of training and program evaluation which link closely each other. However, most of the companies will be less to choose program evaluation because of inadequate experts other than consume for cost and time.  Therefore, the knowledge regarding to ELD system need to deeply enhance.

Furthermore, it is important that the role of Information system in implementation of ELD system when running training program for all the employees, such as recording, storing and analyze all the related training information. The intervention of information system did can make the process implement more easily and delivered those information more effectively. ELD system had lots of advantages however it still has some weaknesses while implementing it. Anyway, it still beneficial company for using it if compare with traditional paper system.

SUMMARY OF THREE TOPICS。。。。



Along the lectures from the beginning to present, the topics which influence me the most or make me memorable are using information system in gaining competitive advantages, four types of globalizing models, as well as the web-based recruitment and staffing. All these topics have a common connection which link to the information system. In today advanced technology, human resource information system (HRIS) with its objectives already well-known to be used in worldwide.

            Competition just like the air we breathe, which competition is always surrounding us, can be beneficial or in contrary. The most strongest, powerful and capable confronted the global challenges will be able to survive in today competitive business world. In business context, competiveness is essential in order to provide better and quality life for the consumers. To survive in business world, market share leader must to develop effective and efficient strategies to counter back those forces from the others competitors which in same market. The winner mostly creatively has the outstanding ideas to insight the actual needs of consumers besides control the trend of market.   

            Through information system, organizations need to look for and develop new, creative approaches in order to increase productivity and effectiveness and able to competing with global market. There have four types of organizational models which encompass Multinational, Global, International and Transnational Model. Each of the models has its advantage; however, when in an environment which great deal of complexity, diversity, most of the organizations cannot manage and adapt such situation. The design of the transnational model was used to face the complexity of market and changes constantly of business environment. One of the efficiencies of using is combination of the knowledge sharing environment locally and globally.

            Nowadays, E-recruitment system has been widely used in hiring eligible applicants and has been replaced the traditional way of recruitment, such as face to face interview. This indeed bring convenient for applicants and organizations. Recruiting is a crucial process which needs to be well conducted to recruit right person to job position although it will has weaknesses like time consuming because of missing information.


Web Based Human Resource Planning: Recruiting and Staffing。。。。



In today competitive base global environment, if organizations want to survive, they must searching efficient, effective or highly productive strategy due to attain highly qualified workforce. Seem worldwide is move towards an advance technology, therefore the use of technology especially on the processes of recruitment and staffing did beneficial for organizations. Either for the small entrepreneurs or large organizations was started using E- recruitment system to hire the right and the most qualified applicants to fit the specific job position. Moreover, if a company needed to recruit certain people on certain job vacancies, they can straight online post attractive or creativity advertisements rather than using manual boring way, for example through newspaper.

            In the field of HRM, recruitment and staffing already considered as one of the most important task for organization. However, the process of recruitment also emphasize on those highly most eligible applicants who with diverse backgrounds. This is because users of online recruitment can come from different ethnic and different level of qualifications. However, online recruitment system can be more beneficial for the person who computer base literate only. Consequently, this can enable people to think critically and creativity to fix weaknesses due from the computerizations on recruitment systems.

            E-recruitment system is well-known system in recruiting and this is beneficial when knowing how this system functioned and helping organization to select the potential employee into the job through the online application. There have some examples of outsource recruitment such as MONSTER. Through this chapter, I can comprehend front end, back end user and GUI which as effective way for interaction between human and computer. Furthermore, although online system can reduce turnover, reduce cost and time, such as on advertisement, get feedback information shortly and make appropriate selection, however, there still have several weaknesses, such as the overload information, strict security system and the need of update system constantly.

            

On Globalizing HRIS。。。。



Since the world driven by technological and scientific, on the organization worldwide, hence to survive in this business world, people need to constantly adapt to keep pace with it and get know well regarding to the knowledge of HRIS, first we should know the globalizing HRIS which related to how organizations figure out with effective, creative strategies due to survive in competitive business market.

          Generally, there are four types of HRIS models which identified as Multinational, Global, International and Transnational models. It is important to learn these models which can provide framework about globalizing HRIS with the different strategic needs and different demands as well as take account and responsive effectively when business environment changing. Besides emphasize local and regional differences, there is needs also global integration and identification well diversity and complexity in the worldwide organization. Multinational Model is more sensitive on the local and regional differences, which responsiveness and sensitivity more on local needs rather than centralization. For example, McDonald is considered as multinational company because it was just fitting the local needs and different cultural which is ‘halal’ for Islamic countries, however not for Hong Kong.

          Furthermore, Global Model is focus more on building single standardized and centralizes organization than elements of local needs, regional and national differences. This is an independent system which can manage their business in all the divisions around the world. For the International Model, it is learning, sharing approaches which facilitates transfer and adaption of knowledge to local business and control them. However, I thought Transnational Model is the most flexible system either globally and locally demands because it is well-designed just to face the complexity and able to adapt the changes business environment. In addition, this model is able to balance between central and local control when confronting demands of conflict around worldwide.
